This elegant roof deck creates a hybrid work and entertainment space atop the Manhattan office building of Grey Group, a leading advertising firm. It features three distinct but interconnected zones that satisfy a variety of needs, from private conversations to large launch parties.
The deck’s centerpiece is the “Pavilion,” a 14-foot-high steel pergola with ipé wood louvers that shade the seating area below. The pergola is anchored to a 60-foot-long counter that contains integrated lighting and audio-visual equipment. Located opposite the Pavilion is bleacher-style seating. A third zone, known as the Annex, features a fully covered meeting space, with festive wall coverings and furniture upholstery that were inspired by pre-existing graffiti.
