Watch the Foundation of the San Diego Central Courthouse Take Shape

Behind every great tower is a great foundation, and this time-lapse video by Rudolph and Sletten proves it. The contractor of the San Diego Central Courthouse recently documented the foundation pouring for the SOM-designed building, which will stand 22 stories tall upon its completion in 2016. The sunrise-to-sunset undertaking is the largest single concrete pour ever completed in San Diego, requiring 6,800 cubic yards of concrete and 4 million pounds of reinforcing steel to produce the 30,000-square-foot finished slab.
