In its inaugural Responsible Disruptors competition, Metropolis has selected Urban Sequoia as an award winner. The award recognizes projects that represent significant change in design technology and sustainability, health, and equity.
First introduced at COP26, the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Urban Sequoia is a concept for buildings and their urban context to absorb carbon at an unprecedented rate. It envisions “forests” of buildings that create a new carbon-removal economy and a resilient future for cities.
