ULI Recognizes Three SOM Projects in Global Awards for Excellence

SOM has two finalists and a Special Mention in the Urban Land Institute’s 2021 Global Awards for Excellence. Harrow Square received the Special Mention, and the Nihonbashi 2-Chome Development and Wuhan Tiandi Site A were recognized as finalists. The award recognizes exceptional urban development projects with positive land use and strong impacts on the local community.

Harrow Square, a mixed-use civic regeneration development in outer London, had previously been selected as a winner of the 2021 ULI Europe Award for Excellence. The project received a Special Mention “for its design and replicability as well as the success of its public private partnership.”

The Nihonbashi 2-Chome Development and Wuhan Tiandi Site A had each been selected as winners in the ULI Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence before advancing to the global awards program. The Nihonbashi 2-Chome Development, located in Tokyo, revitalizes the historic Takashimaya Shopping Center as a pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use destination.
