The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has named Two Manhattan West as one of 14 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement award winners in 2025. The program recognizes projects across the globe that demonstrate exceptional civil engineering innovation and enhance their local built environments.
Two Manhattan West anchors the seven-million-square-foot, mixed-use neighborhood of Manhattan West, a development decades in the making, built above active rail tracks where minimal buildable land existed. Navigating this challenging site required an intricate synthesis of design and engineering. The structural solution to these site constraints—an all-steel tower with outrigger trusses and a series of inclined columns and trusses below the office floors—is expressed in the lobby’s architectural design. The integrated solution expresses the strength and complexity of the tower’s structural system, while completing the design of the public plaza at its base.
Among the honorees, the overall winner and medalists will be named at the ASCE 2025 Convention in October.
