Tiara Hughes to Moderate Chicago Women in Architecture Panel on Women Pioneers in Design

Join Chicago Women in Architecture (CWA) for a discussion about women architects organizing in the Chicago area, as a precedent to CWA’s founding in the 1970s. Panelists will also discuss the importance of the history, and ongoing initiatives to uncover, properly credit and preserve this work.

This panel will be moderated by Senior Urban Designer Tiara Hughes, Founder of the FIRST 500 Initiative. She will also represent Pioneering Architect, Beverly Green.

Panelists include:

Past CWA President, Susan F King, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, LFA. This evening she will represent Pioneering Architect, Elisabeth Martini.

Author, lecturer, historian, preservationist, and urban planner Julia Bachrach. This evening she will represent Pioneering Architect, Elizabeth Kimball Nedved.

Evanston History Center’s Kris Hartzell, who will represent Pioneering Architect, Bertha Yerex Whitman.

Director of Advocacy for Landmarks Illinois Lisa DeChiara, who will present an overview of the on-going “Women Who Built Illinois” project, that she is currently managing.
