Steve Zimmerman and Garth Ramsey of SOM’s Los Angeles office will participate in a panel discussion on April 25th at the A+D Museum. The panel, titled “Building the Future,” is part of Building Forward LA, an initiative from the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti to make Los Angeles a more resilient and sustainable city. By seeking input from experts in multiple fields, the initiative aims to encourage advancements in building design, engineering, and construction.
Zimmerman and Ramsey will discuss the sustainable design of the New United States Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles. The 10-story, 633,000-square-foot building is designed to achieve LEED® Platinum certification and to meet the General Service Administration’s 2020 energy objective.
