On Thursday, May 24th, SOM Associate Director Kevin Conway and Associate Jeff Miller will lead a tour of The Jeremy Hotel in West Hollywood, California. The two will share insight on the design of the hotel and discuss the integration of art, structural engineering, and architecture in the project. At the event, members of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the public will tour the interior and exterior spaces of the hotel.
Designed by SOM and located on the iconic Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, The Jeremy Hotel holds two restaurants, a rooftop lounge, meeting spaces, and other private and public amenities. In designing the 388,000-square-foot boutique hotel, SOM collaborated with artist Janet Echelman to develop and integrate a sculpture titled The Dream Catcher. Suspended between the hotel’s two towers, the 65-foot-tall fiber netting structure distinguishes the plaza.
