On Saturday, October 13th, SOM hosted public tours of its office as part of the 2018 Open House New York Weekend. SOM architects led group tours in SOM’s Wall Street office, where guests explored the model shop and materials library.? Visitors learned about the history of the firm, its organizational structure, and built and unbuilt projects.
Each October, Open House New York unlocks the doors to buildings throughout the city, offering participants an opportunity to experience the architecture around them and to meet some of the players in the architecture, construction, and preservation fields. The event is organized by Open House New York, a nonprofit organization focused on finding ways to engage New Yorkers in the architecture and public space of the city.
