Scott Duncan Named New CTBUH Height and Data Committee Chair

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has named SOM Design Partner Scott Duncan the new chair of the organization’s Height and Data Committee. As chair, Duncan will lead the committee’s decision-making capacities, convene annual meetings, and oversee the diversification and growth of the group.

The CTBUH Height and Data Committee was originally created to provide guidance in the refinement of the official height criteria used to define, measure, and study tall buildings. This mandate has recently evolved to embrace other aspects of building data and measurement. The change is intended to influence compelling research initiatives and public conversations about the nature and impact of tall buildings in urban habitats.

With Duncan as the new chair, the committee will seek to embrace a greater diversity of disciplines and geographies. The committee aims to improve its research and broaden its mission to incorporate a wider set of responsibilities.
