Roche Diagnostics Learning and Development Center Wins AIA Indiana Honor Award

The Indiana chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Indiana) has recognized the Roche Diagnostics Learning and Development Center in the 2018 AIA Indiana Design Awards. In a ceremony held at Columbus City Hall in Columbus, Indiana, the? ??project received the Honor Award for New Construction (Greater than $1M).

The awards jury referred to the project as, ?”An exquisitely well-designed structure [in which] the attention to detail and rigor is unmatched. Beautiful quality of light throughout [couples] with a high level of sustainability and performance. And [it is] extremely cohesive—the architecture and interiors blend seamlessly.”

The Learning and Development Center for Roche Diagnostics, a Swiss-based medical diagnostics company, is a study in architecture’s role in defining corporate character. The 87,000-square-foot building, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, comprises three distinct program zones: a VIP sales suite, customer training labs, and seminar rooms. ?The architectural design throughout emphasizes clarity of structural expression.?

Extensive use of bright white metal within a modernist palette of glass and steel establishes the company’s European brand standards, and reinforces consistent brand identity on a campus of existing buildings. The building’s high level of environmental performance reinforces Roche’s longstanding commitment to sustainability.?
