This November, SOM Director of Urban Design and Planning Peter Kindel will lead seminars at the University of California, Berkeley’s Sustainability Colloquium and the University of Southern California’s Price School of Public Policy. He will discuss the concept of biomorphic urbanism and how it can address ecological challenges facing cities around the world. The UC Berkeley lecture is open to the public.
Kindel will also discuss SOM’s recent collaboration with National Geographic, titled “Cities of the Future,” which examines urbanization in the year 2050. Formed on the foundation of biomorphic urbanism, the project builds on SOM’s extensive research and urban planning precedents. Kindel spearheaded the project, which incorporates interdisciplinary teams across five global offices.
