The MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing has been recognized for its high performance in resilience and sustainability with a LEED Platinum certification—the highest mark of excellence for sustainability as awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council.
In collaboration with Arup, we prioritized both sustainability and wellness through key strategies, including healthy material selections, responsible waste management, and reduced water use. The double-skin facade also plays a key role in the building’s sustainability performance, reducing energy use by an estimated 31 percent below the LEED v4 baseline.
