Kent Jackson Joins Race to Zero Roundtable, Part of COP26 Climate Action Campaign

On Wednesday, November 18th, SOM Design Partner Kent Jackson will represent the global architecture and design industry in a roundtable discussion for Race to Zero—a global campaign to mobilize action toward a decarbonized economy, in preparation for next year’s COP26 United Nations climate change summit.

During a day of events focused on the challenges and opportunities for reaching a zero-carbon built environment by 2050, Jackson will join a roundtable titled “Towards net-zero: What we need from each other.” Moderated by Cristina Gamboa, CEO of World Green Building Council, the session includes Urban Angehrn, Chief Investment Office at Zurich Insurance; Alain Bejjani, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim; Pierre-Andre de Chalendar, CEO of Saint-Gobain; Geoff Makhubo, Executive Mayor of Johannesburg; and Professor Diana Ürge-Vorsatz, European University.

Race to Zero is a collaboration between UN Climate Change, WorldGBC, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The global campaign is mobilizing leadership from businesses, cities, regions, investors for a healthy, resilient, zero carbon recovery that prevents future threats, creates decent jobs, and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth.

Kent Jackson earlier this year joined the World Green Building Council as a Global Ambassador. In this role, Jackson helps to amplify the call to action for governments and policymakers worldwide to drive transition to net-zero carbon buildings.
