On Thursday, March 15th, Karen O’Doherty and Alejandra Delgado will speak at Solutions at Work Live, a conference organized by Bright Horizons. O’Doherty is a Senior Manager of Human Resources based in SOM’s Chicago office and Delgado is an Assistant Benefits Manager based in New York.
O’Doherty will join a panel discussion that includes Deborah Williams, Bright Horizons Diversity Director, and is moderated by Maribeth Bearfield, Bright Horizons Chief Human Resources Officer. Titled “Kindling New Ideas through Inclusion,” the session will center on a discussion of strategies employers can use to encourage the free flow of ideas and to create an inclusive work environment by learning how to recognize and respond to barriers to inclusion.
Delgado will share insight on a partnership between SOM and Bright Horizons to create a space in a community center. Working in partnership with Bright Horizons Family Solutions and the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, SOM designed a “Bright Space” at the Virginia Williams Family Resource Center in Washington. D.C. Designed to engage children and families who visit the center, the Bright Space opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, March 9th. Mark Mendel, President of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, will join Delgado.
Held annually, Bright Horizons’ Solutions at Work Conference invites experts from the United States’ top employers to discuss creative solutions for human resources, talent management, and learning and development.
