Experts from SOM to Discuss 3D Printing at Northwestern University Panel

On Wednesday, November 18th, SOM Architect Leif Eikevik and Architectural Designer Maged Guerguis will participate in a panel discussion that will explore the present and future of 3D printing in architecture and the built environment. Eikevik? and Guerguis? will discuss their roles in AMIE 1.0, a high performance 3D-printed enclosure which shares energy with a 3D-printed vehicle, which was developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In addition, they will explore future trends and opportunities afforded by additive manufacturing, direct from digital construction, and parametric tools. The event is organized by Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science.
