On Tuesday, September 17th, Director of Urban Design and Planning Ellen Lou participated in a panel discussion during this year’s ULI Fall Meeting, held at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. During an afternoon forum, which was titled “Innovative City-Building in Asia’s Mega Cities – What’s Next?,” Lou offered insights on value, risk, investment, and development as related to sustainability.
Lou was joined in the discussion by Esther An, Chief Sustainability Officer, City Developments Limited; and Jaime Van Klemperer, President, KPF.
Lou, An, and Van Klemperer shared insight on various questions impacting the industry and practitioners, such as: How will members of ULI build the sustainable, low-carbon city that we need?; Where do the attractive pockets of new value reside and where do we expect to find new forms of risk?; and What are the new partnerships necessary to deliver the future we want in Asia Pacific’s megacities?
