Recently unveiled designs for 848 Brickell—an SOM-designed high-rise office and retail development set to rise in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood—were featured in Designboom. Developed in partnership with Key International and Sterling Bay, the 50-story tower will house more than 750,000 square feet of Class-A office space, accompanied by a curated 7,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and on-site parking facilities.
Rising above Biscayne Bay and situated directly on the famed Brickell Avenue, the tower was conceptualized to capture the growing market for high-end office space in Miami with its expressive structure and wellness-focused programming. Continuing SOM’s legacy of high-rise innovation and multi-disciplinary design, one of 848 Brickell’s defining features is its exposed structure. Angled structural members heroically raise the tower above two distinct 40-foot-tall outdoor terraces.
