Craig Hartman, SOM Design Partner, will speak at the Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning’s 50th Anniversary Symposium on April 9, 2015. A former recipient of the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, Hartmann will give the keynote lecture titled “Shadow and Light: Making Sacred Space for the 21st Century.”
In his lecture, Hartman will describe the concepts and design process behind SOM’s Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California. The building has received over 30 awards for design, including AIA National Honor Awards for Architecture and for Interiors. At the event, Hartman will discuss how his inculcated values and design practice at SOM were formed through mentorship and the Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning.
