SOM Design Partner Brian Lee has been named to NewCity‘s “Design 50: Who Shapes Chicago 2016” list. Ranked among Chicago’s leading creative professionals across an array of disciplines, Lee has shaped architectural discourse in the city since arriving from SOM’s San Francisco office in 2007. Citing Lee for his work on a handful of groundbreaking Chicago projects, NewCity wrote: “Lee has brought his design sensibility to Chicago with the recently completed Chinatown Branch Library and the AMIE 3D-printed pavilion completed in conjunction with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.”
Lee’s internationally published and award-winning designs include the China World Trade Center in Beijing (the city’s tallest building); Poly International Plaza in Guangzhou, China; the University of California San Diego Telemedicine Education Building; and the Kia Motors America, Inc. Research and Development Project and Design Center in Irvine, California.
