On Thursday, September 22nd, the SOM-designed 111 Main Street will officially open, becoming the newest addition to the Salt Lake City skyline. Located in the downtown City Center neighborhood, the 25-story office tower achieves an innovative and integrated solution to the complexities of its site.
The opening of 111 Main coincides with the 2016 AIA Western Mountain Region Conference, taking place in Salt Lake City from Thursday, September 22nd, to Saturday, September 24th. Craig W. Hartman, Senior Consulting Design Partner in SOM’s San Francisco office, will speak at the event on September 24th, on the theme of “Innovation in Design.” Drawing on a range of SOM projects, Hartman’s lecture will address issues associated with architectural ethos and legacy, contemporary design, and research-based practice. Later in the day, conference participants will have the opportunity to join a building tour of 111 Main.
