As new reports of Coronavirus continue to develop, we’d like to share our response with you. The global health issue we are all navigating is unprecedented—we are collectively in uncharted territory. The care for our people and community is of the utmost importance to us and we are dedicated to doing our part to flatten the curve of this pandemic.
On March 16th, our studios in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Seattle, London, and Dubai moved to a work from home mode, with all business travel suspended, through the end of April at the earliest—we will work with the CDC and WHO to continually update our strategy. We’ve become adept at using remote design and collaboration tools, and urge our peers in the AEC community to take similar steps—we must help stop the spread.
While these are uncertain times, SOM has been privileged to create frameworks for health, transportation, learning, living, and working for 85 years in more than 50 countries. Our expertise has allowed us to design in remote locations and challenging circumstances, enabling communities to flourish, economies to grow, and people to thrive. With a creative spirit and a bench as deep as ours, we’re ready for all challenges as we work with our clients to build a better world.
