Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) has received seven Green GOOD DESIGN Awards, which recognize work that embodies and inspires progress toward a healthy and sustainable future. The awards program, now in its sixth year, stems from the preeminent GOOD DESIGN Awards, founded in 1950 by Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., to promote public understanding and appreciation for modern design. Both programs are managed by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies in cooperation with the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
The illustrious jury of the Green GOOD DESIGN Awards, composed of worldwide leaders in the design profession, selected winners in the categories of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, product, packaging, and graphic design.
