SOM Design Partner Brian Lee will lead two tours of the Chicago Public Library, Chinatown Branch on October 18th and 19th. Led by Know Your Chicago, the “Architects of Global Knowledge” tours are hosted respectively by Blair Kamin, architecture critic for the Chicago Tribune, and Zurich Esposito, Executive Vice President of AIA Chicago.
The Chinatown Branch of the Chicago Public Library serves as a new civic, educational, and social hub for Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood. It has received some of the highest honors for library design in the United States, including the 2016 Library Building Award from the AIA and American Library Association/Library Leadership and Management Association, and 2015 Building of the Year: Midwest from The Architect’s Newspaper.
