The Christ Hospital Joint and Spine Center Wins 2016 AIA/AAH Healthcare Design Award

The Christ Hospital Joint and Spine Center, designed by SOM, has been chosen as a recipient of the 2016 American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) Healthcare Design Awards—an awards program that showcases the best of healthcare building design and healthcare design-oriented research.

The jury noted that the LEED® certified Joint and Spine Center “is a graceful project that is thoughtfully composed and placed in its context.” The Center, which is the first of its kind in the Cincinnati region, brings rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient surgery, imaging, pain management, and spaces for families and education under one roof. The facility, specially built for orthopaedic care, adds approximately 90 private inpatient rooms and 12 surgical suites to the hospital campus.
