William F. Baker Discusses Why Chicago Should be a World Leader in Structural Engineering

SOM Structural and Civil Engineering Partner William F. Baker is slated to present at the February Dinner Meeting of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) on February 2nd. Speaking about why Chicago should be the world leader in structural engineering, Baker will illustrate the city’s role in shaping urban landscapes worldwide and its potential for innovation in structural engineering.

Baker has profound experience in structural engineering across all building typologies, with a portfolio that includes the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest building in the world. A member of SEAOI, Baker has been active in the organization for decades. In 2015, SEAOI’s 50 Significant Projects in 50 Years recognized 14 SOM projects, the most of any firm honored.

Guests are asked to register online by Friday, January 29th. Tickets are $45 for SEAOI members and $65 for non-members.
