SOM Leaders Speak at Tongji University’s Tall Buildings Symposium

On September 18, 2014, three experts from SOM presented at a symposium on tall buildings held by Tongji University’s College of Civil Engineering in Shanghai. Each speaker touched on a different component of the design, development, and construction of tall buildings. Students, faculty, and the public were actively engaged throughout the event.

Mark Sarkisian, SOM Structural and Civil Engineering Partner, presented about tall building design inspired by nature, while Luke Leung, SOM Director of Sustainable Engineering, spoke about the integration of high performance in tall buildings. Lastly, Eric Tomich, SOM Architectural Technical Director, addressed enhancing performance and value with integrated design.
