Senior Architectural Designer Daniel Inocente will participate in two events about the future of space architecture at the ASCEND Virtual Conference, taking place from November 16 to 18, 2020. ASCEND brings together experts in the space industry to share ideas and help shape the future of technology and exploration.
On Monday, November 16th, in a presentation titled, “Future Space Architecture: Cross-Functional Multidisciplinary Design and Engineering,” Inocente will discuss the results of the research SOM has undertaken with the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Concurrent Design Facility. The study addresses the constraints and requirements to design and engineer habitats for the lunar surface.
On Wednesday, November 18th, in a panel titled, “Designing Habitats for Humans,” Inocente will speak about the impact of architecture and human-centered design for habitation beyond Earth. Inocente will be joined by Timothy Cichan, Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Paul D. Kessler, aerospace engineer at NASA, and Danielle Richey, a project manager, systems engineer, and architect at Lockheed Martin. Advenit Makaya, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at ESA, will moderate.
