Six SOM projects have been honored in the 19th edition of Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Awards, an annual program that recognizes significant projects and products from around the globe. Designed as a “terminal in a garden,” Kempegowda International Airport won in the Transportation category. The project radically reimagines the travel experience, transporting passengers through a landscaped terminal inspired by Bengaluru’s “garden city” heritage.
Mulva Cultural Center received an honorable mention in the Entertainment category, while 9 West 57th Street was recognized in the commercial lobby and amenity category. On the West Coast, Carmel Valley Manor and the Los Angeles STAP Bus Shelters were honored in Senior Living and Outdoor Space categories, respectively. Finally our Graphics + Brand studio’s work at the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center received an honorable mention.
