MIT

Four SOM projects have been honored in the 12th edition of The Architect’s Newspaper Best of Design Awards, an annual program that celebrates innovative architecture, installations, and building elements designed worldwide. Recognized as one of the program’s 51 “best” projects, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing won in the Higher Education category. “The shingled glass facade is impressive,” commented AN Executive Editor Jack Murphy. “But behind it, the building’s interior is superbly finished to offer a cutting-edge environment for computer science.”

Additionally, the Angelus Novus Vault received an honorable mention in the Temporary Installation category, while Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru – Terminal 2 and Rice University — Ralph S. O’Connor Engineering and Science Building were Editor’s Picks in the Infrastructure and Facades categories, respectively.
