Lower Manhattan Projects Featured in the New York Post

28 Liberty

We have a long history of revitalizing the urban landscape of Lower Manhattan. Most recently, we returned to two of our historic office buildings, and the New York Post reported on our latest renovation work.

With the Financial District having evolved into a 24-hour mixed-use neighborhood, we returned to 28 Liberty—formerly One Chase Manhattan Plaza—to adaptively reuse more than 200,00 square feet of former banking area below the plaza for retail, as well as reposition the tower for new office tenancy. New glass pavilion entrances and glass storefronts to the retail space from grade level activate the perimeter street frontage and public realm, breathing new life into this historic landmark.

At the nearby One Liberty Plaza—formerly known as the U.S. Steel Building, completed in 1973—we are modernizing the lobby with double-height ceilings, large windows, Italian travertine wall cladding, terrazzo floors, and custom-made furniture. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
