SOM Leaders to Present at CTBUH International Conference

Next week, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) will host its 2024 International ConferenceNew or Renew: Addressing the Density Dilemma.

During the conference, 10 SOM leaders from our New York, Chicago, London, and San Francisco studios will present sessions ranging from panel discussions to research findings and reflections on four projects that won Awards of Excellence. In addition, John Zils—a distinguished structural engineer who worked at SOM for more than 40 years—will be awarded the 2024 Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Award.

“This year’s lifetime achievement awardees exemplify innovation and dedication in the field of tall building design and urban sustainability,” said CTBUH CEO Javier Quintana de Una. “… John Zils, who has significantly advanced the structural design of skyscrapers, has helped make them more efficient and enduring.”

Join us for one of the many CTBUH events below featuring SOM leaders along with the Awards Ceremony & Dinner as we recognize the achievements of John Zils.
