SOM Joins Article 25’s More Than a Building Network

SOM has joined Article 25’s More Than a Building network. Article 25 is the UK’s leading architectural NGO and known for designing and delivering high-quality hospitals, schools, and homes in the global south. By partnering with other NGOs and governments worldwide, Article 25 has delivered over 100 projects across more than 35 countries, significantly impacting global education, healthcare, and housing globally.

As part of the More Than a Building network, SOM supports Article 25 in several ways. Recently, SOM provided visualization support by producing a series of renders of  a new Mycobacterial Research Laboratory at Anandaban Hospital in Nepal. SOM’s visualization team incorporated site-specific elements such as people, vehicles and plants to bring the design to life and communicate the project’s vision.

“At SOM, we believe that building greater equity is a collective effort,” said Design Partner Kent Jackson. “It involves colleagues across our global firm participating in both formal and informal networks, supporting and collaborating with each other, as well as with external groups and broader communities. We are thrilled to be a part of the More Than a Building network, supporting projects across the Global South by providing our interdisciplinary expertise and working with an inspiring and committed team.”

Gemma Holding, Chief Executive of Article 25, commented: “We are delighted to have SOM as part of our More Than a Building network. I am hugely grateful for their time and expertise. When it comes to improving lives through better buildings, the whole really is greater than the sum of its parts.”
