SOM Graphics designed the identity signage and wayfinding elements for San Francisco Airport's new International Terminal. To integrate the signage with the architecture and to give it a distinctive visual presence, typography was custom-designed. The typography varied in treatment depending upon application: ceramic frit baked in glass for the primary building marker; metal bar-stock for the ticket counters; and stencil-cut for the baggage claim identification.
