Jo Palma

Design Director

Jo Palma joined SOM in 2001 and was appointed Design Director in SOM’s London office in 2007. Mr. Palma leads a team of designers and technical staff in exploring new and innovative approaches to design, whilst simultaneously ensuring that the client’s objectives are met. From his preliminary concepts, detailed designs are generated and translated into functioning buildings, through all phases of design and construction.

Mr. Palma oversees design for various building types from corporate, hospitality, residential and commercial in both the United States and abroad. Before joining SOM, he worked extensively in both Europe and Canada. Mr. Palma has also lectured at the University of Toronto and at IIT in Chicago.
