Greater Cork Area Land Use & Transportation Study and Review
Cork, Ireland
In 1992, SOM was commissioned to assist in a 15-year update of the Greater Cork Area Land Use/Transportation Study, originally conducted between 1976 and 1978.
The Review re-examined the objectives of the earlier study, which had established the framework for future growth in the southwest of Ireland. The project encompassed analysis of current population growth, employment, and land use trends, and recommended interventions determined as necessary to re-establish the principles of the Study. The Review concluded with an implementation and phasing plan, and strategies for controlling and directing future growth in the region.
