Chemsunny Plaza
Beijing, China
SOM’s response to the challenge of creating a landmark modern building on one of Beijing’s Mao-era boulevards was a 14-story commercial mid-rise with two major atriums and a highly articulated glass and steel façade. Chemsunny Plaza challenges the sameness of Chang-An Avenue with a new, novel, and inviting presentation of solids and voids.
