BankBoston commissioned SOM to architect, design, and engineer a new, 30-story headquarters in Sao Paulo’s upscale Ponte Morumbi District. The building, designed to accommodate a work force of 3,000, was conceived from the inside out, with the functional requirements of the bank dictating size, shape and use. The BankBoston Headquarters represents what SOM refers to as “interior informed architecture.”
